My Kitchen Witch start

Published on 3 July 2025 at 12:36

My path in witchcraft has been Ever changing and growing since I was a child. I got started as I think most children do, reading about Wicca and reading Llewellyn books.

As a pre-teen I had a group of witchy friends, and we held all manner of circles together and tried all manner of spells. Yes, we even did the classic, "light as a feather, stiff as a board" spell.

Ah the nostalgia. *cringe*

As an adult I started a dive into Herbalism and Natural Wellness. This earned me the title of Kitchen Witch with many.

The first plant I studied was Dandelion.

I was absolutely amazed at what a powerhouse such a common plant was! It really opened my mind to the world of plant allies.

Dandelion Salve was the first herbal product I ever created, used and sold. And it sure was popular!

Good for almost any ailment, I would put dandelion salve on anything I would put Neosporin on.

It is an amazing remedy for busted knuckles and rough hands for those who work outside or labor with their hands. Bites? stings? dry skin? You know it, Dandelion salve would help!

I still make it to this day.

Known as a common weed, Dandelion grows almost anywhere and is easily found and harvested.

All parts of the plant of edible and medicinal. Flowers, leaves, stems and roots.

Dandelion makes for an excellent tea and many like Dandelion root tea in place of coffee.

Dandelion is loaded with vitamins and antioxidants. Has diuretic capabilities. Can help cleanse the liver and kidneys. May help control blood sugar and may help reduce inflammation.

Tell me your experience with Dandelion below!

Love and Light,

Sharon
